Widest single blended video display ever

Supporting a show the Disney Event Group (DEG) produced for Transitions Optical, PSAV team members at the Disney Yacht and Beach Club became the first to use as much as 16 DL.3 Digital Light projectors for a single wide-screen blend. The 315-foot screen is also believed to be the widest single screen ever projected upon. The 17-foot-tall screen was assembled at its full length for the event’s closing session, which showcased a seven-minute custom animation the Disney animation team produced. The large screen projection included image magnification (IMAG) and picture-in-picture display windows for presenters and their content.

The entire room began with one wide screen and later in the program was split into four breakout rooms, each with its own smaller 17’ tall by 70’ wide screen. The truss-mounted screen was split with enough clearance for air walls to divide each space. The screens were seamed using Velcro, allowing them to separate into the areas where the air walls traveled.
